In Cahoots wanted to stand out from the crowd of same-old business conferences. The whole vibe of the event is to make it feel as ‘unconferencey’ as possible: brilliant creative speakers, fun, friendly, and a bit chaotic but in all the right ways.
The brand needed to reflect community, but subversive. Friendly, fun and with a touch of controlled anarchy.
Importantly, it needed to show the spirit of collaboration - bringing people of all creative and business flavours together.
The use of irregular quadrilaterals was designed to reflect the controlled anarchy idea - not a boring right angle in sight.
This paired with the overlay of bright and vibrant pure CYMK colours signifies the creative and collaborative mix of attendees and speakers.
The elongated double-'O' created a sound you could see, leaning into the playfulness of the word 'cahoots'.

"We chose to work with Mike to create a visual identity for our business event brand on the strength of previous work of his that we had seen - and we were not disappointed!
Mike was absolutely brilliant from start to finish. He really listened, understood what we were trying to achieve and the concepts he presented were spot on. He had created visual impact, captured the essence of what we were all about and made us all excited about launching the brand with confidence.
And he really challenged us with his concepts, presenting strong, distinct visual identities that really made us consider the impact of the work on our audience and how we wanted to be seen.
We've had nothing but amazing feedback about the event branding since it launched."

"Blimey. Can't help but feel working with In Cahoots must have felt like herding three annoying cats, each with contrasting ideas...
HOWEVER, what Mike came up with for us is just perfect. It fits the vibe we're going for with the event, it fits our personalities, and as a bonus, it marries up incredibly well with The Creative Collective"
